Inside Wildflower’s Expressive New Collingwood Studio
Immediately you are led to a residential-style kitchen where a wet finish, irregular block-shaped, fire-engine red island is established as the focal point.
In contrast, the surrounding joinery adopts a softer base palette, with Laminex finishes introducing warmth and tactility throughout the space. Surprise moments of Pale Honey are revealed once cabinets are opened, creating subtle flashes of colour that feel playful and aligned with their branding.
It’s these details that create a rich experience of the space. Designed for more than mere utility, the kitchen acts as a social anchor for the studio - encouraging informal conversation, collaboration and the kind of day-to-day connection that gives creative workplaces their energy.
Wildflower’s new Collingwood office, designed in collaboration with Made For, is a visual expression of their brand’s creative ethos. At first glance, the studio feels immediately aligned with Wildflower’s digital identity. The Melbourne-based interior design studio is recognised for its expressive interiors and distinctive approach to furniture and object curation.
Upon entrance, it’s immediately clear that you’ve arrived at the Wildflower studio. A tritone carpet welcomes you up the stairway in tones of white, pale yellow and their iconic red.
Panning around, you’ll notice an open office space. The base palette of warm neutrals is broken up with pops of colour that emphasise Wildflower’s eye for object and furniture curation. It’s obvious that their creativity is not a performance. This is a space where pieces feel like they've been collected over time with experience and intention, adding to an undeniable air of authenticity.
The boardroom was intentionally crafted as a more subdued environment where materials, finishes and ideas can take centre stage without visual competition.
Bold red PVC door flaps greet you into the finishes library downstairs.
Wildflower’s iconic red is extended into the room within the artwork and the industrial shelving.
The lighting is made adaptable to observe finishes under different lighting conditions.
It’s a space that introduces a workshop feel that very much honours the creative process of the studio.

A sliding door punctuated with a uniquely jagged handle opens to a cosy phone room with views of Rupert Street below.
Wrapped in warm tones and soft lighting, the smaller space offers a quieter mode of working that contrasts the openness of the studio, creating an opportunity for stillness without disconnecting entirely from the workplace atmosphere.
Warm timber tones and soft neutral Laminex surfaces create a calm foundation that allows the Wildflower team to present bolder palettes, textures and objects to clients.
Rather than feeling minimal or bare, the space feels more like a blank canvas for creative ideas to flourish.
Wildflower’s office also reflects a broader movement within Australian design toward softer commercial environments that blur the line between hospitality, residential and workplace design.
It’s an approach that invests in efficiency by creating an atmosphere. Here, Wildflower and Made For demonstrate their understanding of how workplaces shape the way people feel.
In many ways, the studio acts as a live representation of the Wildflower brand itself: layered, thoughtful and unconventionally creative.
Together, Wildflower and Made For have created a workplace that feels less like a corporate fit-out and more like an evolving creative environment - one that embraces personality, material richness and the everyday rituals of studio life.
